Ever hear the song "Dirty Laundry" (I think it's the name) by Don Henley? News people FEED off stuff like this; the more spectacular the better, with little concern over rest or injury (actually that usually makes it sweeter for them). I remember an eye witness I saw on TV news not long ago who saw a mid-air collision between two small aircraft, killing everyone on board both aircraft, and this guy was absolutey orgasmic with excitement. If what you describe above is the way it really was, there would probably be little risk. But there were numerous drivers, including the one driving the SUV. And if you still need more convincing, the guy talking says something like G-Damn once he sees the body flying out, which could be expected even from a news wiener looking for spectacular footage to put his name on.
