Congestion charge increase likelyMark Hewitt So you have to pay a congestion charge to keep your own car on the drive and not use it.... Hmmmm. FX:Googles. Nope , it appears if you don't...

Sounds like an impressive track record to me.
Funny, then, how the entire "American government and establishment" collectively decided to stop paying the charge (which they *had* been paying previously) once Tuttle took over. And these people are "among the sharpest in the world"???
Indeed, *very* widely believed. So much so that The Times - a newspaper which you once insisted to me is the epitome of journalistic trustworthiness - announced Tuttle's appointment in an article enbreastled "How $200,000 gave Bush friend ticket to London". ($200,000 is the amount Tuttle donated to Bush's election campaign and inaugration celebrations.)
If that's the case then the State Department's legal eagles obviously don't have a bloody clue because they happily coughed up to begin with. No, the sudden U-turn is much more consistent with the fact that the ambbuttador made up his *own* mind.
Why are you misrepresenting Barder's article? The Inland Revenue bit (which is mostly a quotation from Accountancy Age) takes up 91 words out of a 2,423 word article. That's 3.75% of the article - scarcely the basis of his conclusions, as *you* claim.
How about treating us to your analysis of Barder's other points, including the ONS submission to the OECD? You certainly have the time to do so, and this seems to be an issue you are highly interested in, but are you able?
