I'm not quite sure how to interpret that.
Since my original driving lessons I have had no formal training, so on that basis I'm likely to be very uncritical. In fact I am extremely uncritical of other road users, but I do review my own driving and make adjustments to my style in the light of the events I experience.
Very seldom do I seem to experience unexpected events in the sense of suddenly finding myself in difficulty. Almost invariably I cope quite easily with whatever happens and therefore the events not noticed by me in the way you perhaps mean. I accept it all as being normal, and work round it, which doesn't seem to me to be a problem.
As I have said before, hardly ever do I find a need to take urgent action, so presumably my observation, anticipation and general reading of situations seems to be working fairly well. I certainly don't go in for blowing horns at people and getting agitated about things.
The last time I did have to take urgent evasive action was about two years ago, when a car pulled out of a side road on my left, just as I was about to pbutt that point. He had stopped quite normally at the junction and I was travelling at about 40 mph on the main road, when he suddenly pulled out about four feet into the main road and then fortunately he stopped again. I had no time to brake, so all I could do was an instinctive jink to the right, and I just missed him. Apart from slowing to little more than walking pace every time you approach a side road, I don't see how you can ever be sure of avoiding that sort of problem.
Best wishes all, Dave.
