I'm already in enough bother with one or two folk here that this little proposition shouldn't do too much additional harm.
It seems to me quite plausible to suggest that most drivers do drive to 'the system' even if they've never actually heard of it. At this point we should perhaps pause for a moment while Mark has his apopletic fit, and then we'll continue.
Right then, are you OK now Mark? Well I hope you are, but do watch that blood pressure. I expect you're a good bit younger than me but don't go taking too much for granted all the same.
What I'm thinking is that drivers do take in Information, they adjust their Position, they adjust their Speed, they select and engage a different Gear, they negotiate the hazard (one 'z' Ray) and then they Accelerate. Now I feel sure that a huge number of drivers apply this not particularly consistently and well, but is it not inevitable that they do drive basically in accordance with the system? The system is merely a formal presentation of a logical procedure which one applies as being a natural way of driving.
