You give Conor too much credit. There are good and bad drivers whatever is driven, but at least the average car driver has an excuse - they only had to pbutt a standard test, possibly years before. If the police aren't going to pull them over then how would anyone expect them to get better? They are not even required to be re-tested, so no way to pull the worst drivers off the road there.
Lorry drivers, on the other hand, have to pbutt an advanced test according to Conor - it is a shame many lorry drivers do not continue to drive to that standard.
I'll finish by saying this. Due to my three advanced courses now, and three pbuttes (IAM, RoADA & DSA), I am well aware how I need to drive with sympathy for other road users problems. With Lorries, this means expecting them to be slow away at junctions, being unsighted by the trailer at times etc. I drive in a style that attempts to not hinder them in any way - this means more progress for both of us. It is a shame then, that I increasingly find lorry drivers driving well below an advanced standard.
