The IAM and TripleS a reconciliation uU|G*dfHK8Zr48 388

Quite right.

"The System of Car Control is a system , or drill, each feature of which is considered, in sequence, by the driver on the appraoch to any hazard".

TripleS Dave, Or is it TripleS, The Supremely Supercilious Superhero? You do talk sense sometimes, *but* all the way through this...

The importance here is that each feature is considered, in sequence. It does not necessarily mean that the feature is applied every time but it MUST be considered and it MUST be done in sequence.

PC Paul No, TripleS is a name I adopted when I joined PistonHeads, and it means Swift, Smooth, Safe, as those are the qualities (not necessarily in that order) I think we should aim to...

A lot of the minor points argument is about the methods of doing things rather than the system itself. How you steer (rotational or pull-push) is not part of the system. Neither is how you hold the gear lever or how you sit at the wheel. They are all covered in roadcraft but do not form part of The System.

The System is flexible when it is applied properly. I know of an examiner who regularly retested an IAM member who used rotational steering. He pbutted every time becuase his application of the system was always perfect and his steering, although not the preferred method, was always consistent and fluid. Had his steering method been inconsistent or his application of the system been in any way less than perfect, he would have failed.

I may not have explained that very well but the more intelligent amongst you should get what I mean. The rest will no doubt pick holes in it.
