The fish darwin symbol... 852Silk I suspect that no concept is straightforward enough for you to grasp. See what I mean? Okay, so it wasn't "God", it was "The Creator". What's...
Sadly yeah (well, widely within the scientific community, not in general life, I've found), and I'd agree with that with regards to the 'softer' social side, but the science part is evey bit as scientific as a 'hard' science.
Well, I'll take your word for that.
The fish darwin symbol... 851David Taylor The way it's taught in the educational system is pretty straightforward. I don't see that it's asking too much for some straightforward evidence to match. What irony...
Well I'm f***ed either way! I didn't do psychology because I couldn't do anything else - I did eight A-levels over three years, physics, biology, maths, business, law, psychology, media (now thisiswhat you'd call a soft subject) and sociology (not as soft as media but close, imho) and got 'C' grades in all. I know that means little more than not much, but it shows I am capable of thinking (well, at least thats how I like to see it, y'know...). I did psychology because I was interested in the subject. It's a shame that psychology has a bad press in some peoples minds as the real science stuff gets lost due to this. A friend of mine did his disseration on bi-lateral eye movent and it's effect on memory. I don't think that could be considered 'soft' science in anyones book. (My own was on implicit logic problems.)
No worries, non taken.
Not really true, a psychologist can determine the mental health of people. They can't prescribe pharmacological treatments, but can certainly advise on that aspect. However, psychologists can prescribe other treatments for disorders, cognitive behavioural therapy as an example.
However, having read Silks contributions to this thread, I'd be suprized if he were actually a psychologist. A man with as closed and uncritical a mind as he has shown is very unlikely to beable to cope with the concepts involved in a psych degree.
All just my next-to-worthless H.O., obviously.
