Oh, gimmie a break. Soon's someone wants to whine about something, they start adding up the salaries of all the cops looking for her, as if it costs more to look for her than it does to chase speeders. The state would be paying the cops for their time in any case, so it didn't cost anywhere near that. Maybe a few less speeders were harrbutted during that time - that'd be a good thing.
Yep, the report is irrelevant, and the act of disappearing is not illegal. Maybe you'd like to jail Judge Crater or Jimmy Hoffa if they ever turned up and said they just wanted to get away from it all. Not me - they wanna drop out, that's their business.
I can't believe everyone wants to trump up the thinnest excuses to throw virtually everyone in jail. Its almost as bad as the bunch around here that wants to jerk everybody's licenses for everything from stopping an inch over the stop bar to having dirty hubcaps. The trivialities here are amazing.
That would be a mismanagement of resources on the part of officials...
