Those that are being pbutted have the responsibility to yield to faster traffic before pulling into the pbutting lane. Traffic going 30 mph faster than you will still take 30 seconds to cover a 1-4th mile distance relative to slower traffic. Visibilty on an interstate definitely allows one to see that far for the most part
If I were a police officer, I would keep my overhead lights activated and drive down the left lane at 95 mph. Anyone who pulls out in front of me would get a reckless driving ticket (because they were too stupid to be able to see a police car that was within visibility range for 1-2 a minute).
Oh it definetly is different. The road is not a line. One is allowed to pbutt. The analogy would be closer to a family jumping into the single riders line from the regular line because they feel they have the right too.

People who jump out into the pbutting lane without checking (or even caring there is) for faster traffic are the one's who think their needs are more important.
