There are two sides to this arguement. On one hand, Britain seems to have a "It's convenient for me to park here, so I will" mentality, which probably goes hand in hand with the selfish behaviour-low IQ-no observation that we have all seen on the roads anyway.
On the other hand, traffic wardens and traffic law is really quite overzealous in places where a little moderation would go a long way. Ie, 50p for 5 minutes really is a bit of a scam.
Yes, this is a very good point to put to the stupid woman. In this case, Plod-traffic warden should be applauded.
Similar story about a friend of mine who had recently got his HGV license. Somewhat green and facing a narrow 1-way street in which some plonker had parked on the double yellows with his hazards on. My friend waited some minutes for him to come back, but no avail. Traffic was backing up behind him, so he tried his luck and put a mbuttive score down the side of the car. A few minutes later a bobby walked round the corner. First thing he did was give the offending car a parking ticket. Well served him right!
