Think of it as AutoDependency in Action 3560

Done, and done. But walking to school and then walking home doesn't make for much of a life. I happen to live within easy walking distance of all schools my children would have to go to (if I had children). So does my sister, who DOES have children. But if all your child does is go to school, and spends every other waking SECOND at home, he-she is not going to be very successful in later life. Kids need a life outside of school and outside of home, also.

I personally drove myself to school starting at age 15. (so did the vast majority of my clbuttmates the same age) But if I spent all my time at either school OR home, I wouldn't have had much of a life. The ironic thing is, I was one of the few teenagers in my school who lived close enough to the high school to WALK there. I still drove to school, as I usually did not have time after school to walk home to grab the car to drive wherever I had to be after school. Before someone suggests I was lazy, nothing is further from the truth. I spent many hours every week excercising (at least 20, on a slow week). I seriously considered being a professional tennis player. I had an athlete's body with incredible stamina and legs like tree trunks, as tennis wasn't my only sport, just my favorite, at the e. -Dave
