I don't think anyone not there can reasonably come to a judgment on that.

It seems a reasonable supposition. Radios and all that.
So that would exclude claims about tyre tracks and hedgerow marks, and allegations about the tailgating habits of other motorists, would it not? And what about the accusations that one driver was on the wrong side of the road and another was driving aggressively?
Even if an accusation which might lead to a charge of dangerous driving has been made? Not that I have any reason whatsoever to think that the OP was driving badly, but I'd be interested to know what powers the police have to detain someone pending investigation, if any. I suppose they can always claim it's a person offence and bang 'em up for a couple of months if needed ...
