Road TaxPC Paul How to be a consultant. A shepherd was tending his flock in a field, when a new sports car screeched to a stop...
The lorry driver who merged behind me yesterday certainly did nothing to improve my impression of that group.
I was third in a line of four cars doing 55 in L1 of a motorway with a 60 limit. A 44 tonner was approaching the group of cars down a slip road from behind. The car behind me pulled out and started to overtake. Which gave the lorry about a quarter mile gap behind me to safely join. Instead he continued on the slip road until his cab was alongside me. I couldn't move ahead for the cars I was following. I couldn't move to L2 as I was being overtaken. Slowing down wasn't an option as most of the HGV was behind me. With the slip road about to run out the lorry slowed enough to join 6 feet behind me.
He then overtook all three of us in L1 and didn't move over until another slip road had joined increasing the road to 3 lanes. Thus the lorry was illegally in L3. All of this was totally unnecessary as the motorway finished about a mile further on. Where is a policeman when you need one?
