This guy didnt look

Friday heading north on M9 at the Newbridge roundabout. I'd joined the M9 from the M8 eastbound. Roadworks were about to take place to the motorway was coned over to the left by one lane (i.e. hard shoulder was now lane one, lane one was now lane two) There were signs up indicating the shift in lanes so I used lane 1 - most cars were in lane 2 for some reason while 1 was clear. As I pbutted under the roundabout I was watching the traffic from the slip road on the roundabout joining the M9. I noticed that although there was a 4ft high warning sign saying "GIVE WAY" and white give way markings on the road, the traffic was zip merging for some reason. The slip road was even coned so that the joining traffic had to slow right down. As I approched the slip road I had my eye on the vehicle that was gonna get creamed and saw it was going to be a black mk5 escort. Sure enough when the time came this driver just didnt give way but tried to merge.....needless to say that when I used the horn (and its loud!) he had a hell of a fright to see 44 tonnes bearing down on him. I did have to brake for this twit but it just proves to me (yet again) that car drivers (most of them) just dont look and read. As I watched him from the cab he swerved and went through the cones and stopped. He must have missed me by inches. The give way sign was on an "easel" type of stand, it was facing the traffic at the bend in the lane, there were white give way lines painted. What more do they need? Why dont they read whats in front of them? The signs arent there to keep the council signmaker in a job but for drivers safety.
