Dave Head Well, since he's only going to two-year school, I don't think he'll be much better off. In any case, you're forgetting I got a four-year...

That's why everyone's up to their eyeballs in debt. Did you notice credit card late payments hit an all time high last month? Personally I think Cory has the right idea. Hell, I graduated in 1996 and still am paying off my student loans. Borrowing more is not always a bright idea.

I was dean's list, but because of the college's policies (it was over the teachers...

I would not consider the Galaxie a beater, and hell, the falcon was a solid nearly rust-free car so I'd hardly consider that a beater either. I was gonna clean it up and POR-15 the whole underside since it was gonna be my winter vehicle. Other than that the only rust on the car was a couple spots of surface rust on the hoof, which I was also going to fix and paint. I never "unpleasant woman" or complain about how much parts cost. I consider the vast majority of parts for my car relatively cheap. Just compare parts for a clbuttic car to parts for a new car... The clbuttic car parts are much cheaper and there are fewer expensive pieces to fail. Beyond that I have the money to address all the things my Galaxie needs, and everything the Falcon needed (which wasn't much) and still have plenty for expenses down the road. The money saved from driving a vehicle that gets ~30 MPG would also save me at least $80-mo. Point being that I certainly wouldn't buy a vehicle I could not afford to maintain. No sense having two if they can't both be in safe and enjoyable condition. Scott, immature punk that he is, doesn't seem to understand that some people aren't as well-to-do as him and struggle to get by at times.

As far as loans... Heck I always repay my credit cards right away. I'll often leave a slight balance on one of them just to keep my credit score increaseing from the credit card company making a few cents off me on interest. They don't like it when you never let them charge interest, so your credit score will go down. But yeah, I'd rather not be in any more debt than I have to. If I ahve a cheap place to live that's comfortable for me I'd just as soon live there. So that's exactly what I'm doing for the time being. Like you mention that you are still paying off student loans, my parents are both still paying off student loans. I'd rather not borrow any more than I have to.

Cory
