Dunkle one. I much
I'm through with this Falcon. I'd like to see it go to a good home and be fixed, but I doubt there will be anyone that ambitious who wants to buy the car. So it'll probably end up getting parted out.
I've made up my mind on what I'm gonna do with the money from the Falcon. I'll be getting some Edelbrock RPM heads for the 460, the Edelbrock RPM cam (most likely, not 100% sure of which cam to get yet), a Weiand Stealth intake, and a 750 or 850 Holley vacuum secondary carb (gonna snag one off eBay). Should run me about $2600-$2700 for everything I need and the 460 will be pumping out upwards of 500 HP.
I've also got my eyes on a replacement vehicle... A ~1980 F-150 4x4 stepside shortbox with a 302 and manual trans. Should be a fun truck and a practical parts hauler. Gonna go for a closer look and a test-drive later this week. Anyone know what transmission those trucks came with? If it's only a toploader I'll probably buy my friend's 5 speed ZF trans and transfer case since he no longer needs it (instead of swapping a 302 into his Bronco II he's buying a '78 Bronco 4x4 with a 351M and toploader). Even if the truck has a SROD I may well do the ZF, as I hear the gear spread on the SROD is pretty bad. We shall see. This is weird for me to be considering a modern vehicle for a daily driver. It's still carbureted so hopefully I won't have any reliability issues. If need be I'll swap either a 2 barrel intake and one of the old Autolite 2100's onto it or if I decide mileage isn't too important I may go with one of the 4v intakes and Holley's I have. The 2100 may be better for off-road so I don't know. We shall see.
Anyhow, I'm trying to keep my spirits up with plans of my projects adn what fun things I can do with this money. It keeps my mind off the several root canals I'll be getting next week, and almost makes the painful walking worth it. *shudder* I'd rather be driving my Falcon. Bah...
