I am so damn tired of this "Just Let 'Em Go" atbreastude!!! Damn!! Just how much of this story do you actually know about?? This fleeing felon was doing over 80 mph at times - but just letting him fly around like a complete and utter moron, endangering lives and risking a MAJOR accident is okay? Instead, 4 truck drivers, obviously seeing a construction zone was going to constrict the lanes, slow down in an attempt to help the CHP catch up to, and apprehend, a criminal with no reguards for the safety of others. His initial 'crime' may have been an unsafe lane change, but once hed fled a normal traffic stop, and turned it into a high-speed pursuit, it became much more.
YOU may not be able to rationalize this incident, since you seem to not know enough about it, or trucks, for that matter. This 'takedown' took place at roughly 5 to 10 miles an hour - hardly a dangerous situation. Yes, a small diesel spill occured, but if this speeding maniac had been left to proceed, the cost of life and property would have been much, MUCH higher! I'm glad to see someone help out, even in a small way. Yes, it could be potentially dangerous to the truck drivers, since they were not aware if the driver had a weapon he could have turned on them - they chose to help the men in blue (actually CHP wear black, don't they?). I say "Thank You" for being concerned enough about your community to help out without any reguard to you own safety.
