Truckers Nab Pursuit Suspect on Live TV 3094

How about on surface streets? There's several chases a year here where an innocent bystander gets rammed, run over, or slid into by the person being chased on surface streets. I don't blame the police in all the cases, but in at least two it was questionable why they kept chasing them through red lights as long as they did. In both chases people not involved with the chases died. In both cases they had a helicopter following the chase also.

There was just something on the news last night about a Jeep Cherokee that was rammed, the driver is in critical condition, the chasee was arrested without injury even though he was in a Honda Civic. I don't know nearly enough about it to say if this was a bad decision, but it'd been 3 months - we were due for this to happen again.

1. No where did anyone mention that the Police requested the truckers to block the suspect's car - and I am surprised that they would endanger civilians in...

I'm just glad these truckers got involved instead of an SUV that could have flipped several times from a collision. It seems simpler though just to follow them with an out of sight helicopter and hopefully get the person to not realize they're being followed. Maybe bill them for the copter fuel too, as long as they're causing problems like that.
