Driver Notification forms for Mark
Mark Although I stated that we'd come to the end of line on this discussion I am intrigued as to why this measure creates so much hostility. I...

Mark - have you noticed a pattern here? Anybody who dares disagree with the tyre companies - and they've changed their tune in the last decade - is quite obviously barking mad, lying and-or a clueless muppet...

FWIW, Depresion, I immediately noticed a big difference between Michelin Pilot Exaltos and the subtly cheaper Pilot Primacies on the front of my XM. I noticed absolutely NO difference when I changed the backs from off-brand pooe to the Exaltos.

On a CX in the past, I did roughly 50 miles with a set of some off-brand Korean pooe on the front - it was lethally undrivable. I've had remould mud'n'snows that were barely even round on the back - one of which was missing a chunk of tread the size of your hand - and hardly noticed a difference.

On 2cvs, you can immediately tell the difference between the recommended 20psi in the front and (vastly preferable) 26psi. On the back, I've had flats and the only symptom to the driver is a slight increase in road noise, a little bit of weave at speed and slightly odd handling round corners when the flat rear's on the outside.

There were two occasions actually, one wet one dry. The 90 left lodge lane. I was going too fast and was panic braking and steering at the same time. The tyres said "up yours...

Yes - they're all Citroens. That's because they're what I drive most. All of them use front tyres far faster than rear.

Guess what? They ALL utterly disobey the overly simplistic tyre company recommendations.

Will you PLEASE accept that the recommendations might not be correct for all cars all the time? That's all I'm saying. I'm not saying that ALL cars should have the better tyres on the front. I'm not saying that your experience might differ, because you're probably driving other cars.

You, on the other hand, are accusing me of being a lying f***wit.
