My daughter will be 16 next week (aarrrggghhh!!! I'm not old enough!) She's not likely to win the "world's most co-ordinated person" prize in the near future - or indeed the next 100 years. Still, she's going to need to learn to drive. Judging by my own experience ("least co-ordinated mother....") there are two distinct problems, a) learning to control and manoeuvre a large lump of metal and plastic, b) learning to deal with real roads and all the other idiots driving on them. It seems to me that it might be useful to get a) underway before attempting b). So, I'd like some recommendations for places where teenagers can get some driving education and experience far from the madding crowd. Useful locations would be Somerset, Dorset, and the bits of Wiltshire, Hampshire and Devon adjacent; alternatively we spend a lot of time further south so Spanish tracks in Andalucia between, say, Jerez and Malaga could be a possibility. As her 12 year old brother is a committed follower of St Jeremy of Clarkson and his Ilk, I would gain beaucoup de brownie points for a location which would allow anyone over 5ft tall to get behind a steering wheel.
Thanks, Pen
