Let's look at some of those claims ... How many of those had dodgy tyres? I suspect very...

Anyone can thow up stats, by drawing them off some web page. It is best to know what they mean before you do so. I used to be a traffic enforcement officer and can tell you have dealt with thousands of defective vehicles in my time. Would it suprise you to learn that I have issued most of the prohibition notices to goods vehicles and public service vehicles? ...Because that is true. Don't pretnd you are some innocent lorry driver that does not break the law. I think if I were to take a look at your vehicle, I would bet you a pound to a penny there would be some mechanical defect. Where there is money to be made, there are corners waiting to be cut. Caravanners are prvate individuals who usually have pride if their outfits and are quite prepared in the main to spend the money to keep them fit. In terms of your stats, if I were back in RT enforcement and was sent to look for a specific defect, like defective rear brakes, where do you think i would go looking... At the vehicles that I knew had a history of that type of defect. The same applies to tyres, if I were looking for defective HGV tyres where would I go... prpbably looking a 8x4 tipper vehicles and owner operators of old triaxle trailers, etc. Don't be foolish man amd stop tarring everything with a brush you don't know how to use. -- John Building our caravanning web site and forums... www.gmails.co.uk-forums
