Get your head out of your butt, no one is offended by your description of your driving, the fact remains that an "enthusiastic driver" would not be driving some sack of poo front wheel drive Ford Probe. And the probe is not "good for the money" it's a bad joke which is why sales over here were so low that Ford dropped the model as quickly as it could.

The price of petrol has nothimg to do with someone's ability to drive a car with a manual gearbox. Can you drive a manual BTW?

Since you appear to have not a clue about what you drive or even what makes a good car, here's a clue. Go to Autotrader, enter the postcode of the location that you'll be living at and search for all cars priced less than £3000 within a short drive of where you will live. Some of them will probably suit you, and let's face it, almost anything would be an improvement on a Probe.

If you want to stick with Ford, the Mondeo and Focus both drive better,
