Yes it did, what you posted was utter bollocks.
I've mentioned my trips to Italy before, Google should retrieve the posts in question. I don't know much of Italy on the Western coast, and if you're intending to drive to Palermo IMO you need your bumps feeling or you may have a car that you don't care about I suppose.
I live in central Italy, it's pleasant we have a big mountain, the Adriatic sea, best food in Italy, people here are a little saner than in the rest of Italy, speeds on the motorway tend to be low and driving in cities relatively calm.
I hate Milano and Roma and leave my car outside either city if we visit.
If you're going to Rome schedule in the Domus Aureum and Ostia Antica. Firenze is now closed to cars in the centre but worth a visit, I haven't been back since the closure so we used to park at the Fortezza bbutto in the centre. My friends say you can't park there now.
If you like history then it's worth a visit to see Estruscan remains - try Tarquinia. You don't have Bologna on your tour and you should if you can get over that way.
TBH there's so much of Italy you won't be able to see all or even a reasonable fraction of it on a single visit.
