Not much on Google (in English) at any rate.
From memory:
The tanker had been overfilled at the depot and then spent the day in the Spanish sun. It might have been delivering LPG to a campsite but it crashed before it got there, it left the coast road and ran over a sea wall, low cliff or something onto the beach where the overfilled (overpressured ?) tank ruptured allowing tons of LPG to escape onto the beach which was full of holidaymakers.
It got ignited and a boiling liquid explosion ensued.
I can remember the statement of a Dutch eyewitness referring to "Many people in the sea with the flesh on their arms bursted open - like a sausage". :-((
Can't see that any of these circumstances are pertinent to using a handheld GSM mobile sensibly on a British forecourt in normal circumstances IE in the absence of spillages, irregular fuel transfers service work on the fixed installation USW.USW.USW.
BTW. You wouldn't believe it. It's illegal to fill up with fuel on a Spanish forecourt with your ordinary car lights on, "Luce Incendido" = "lights burning". The station operator can get a big fine, (I *think* that's what he was trying to say).
Another stupid regulation inappropriate for 2006 probably a hangover from Carbide lamps.
