Wally of the Week

Might I hereby award the Wally of the Week award to the man who, whilst I was travelling along the A6068 in Laneshawbridge, Lancashire this Saturday morning?

What transpired was that as I came around the corner just past the church, I looked all the way along the road (which is straight at this point) and espyed in the distance a large white "people carrier" vehicle facing me, with the rear hatch open which almost (but not quite) obscured the yellow lights upon the top.

Recognising the Lancashire Scamera Partnership van out on another bout of highway robbery, I immediately slower to just below the speed limit, to the surprise of the pick-up behind me who obviously was expecting me to chase off at 40+ MPH.

We pbutted the Scamera van, thinking evil thoughts in pbutting, and continued onwards in his zone of enforcement doing the usual snail's pace in third gear (to prevent any little accidental speeding), whereapon the pillock in the pickup decided that the danger was past, and flashed his lights.

It being clear on the left, I indicated, pulled over and let him go.

Methinks that ought to have been enough to alert the Scamera artist behind me, so perhaps Wally of the Week may get a little surprise in the post in the next week or two.

Or maybe not.

It was still a bloody stupid thing to do, to speed in the full view of a Scamera van he'd just pbutted.
