Nope, its just the usual journalistic silly stuff that gets the basics wrong.
No it doesnt.
Wrong.
Correct.
That is just plain wrong, they are being built.
They do.
That regulatory problem above.
Nope.
Mindless stuff. Its actually cheaper to transport the final product, stupid.
You're wrong.
Nope.
Just as true of gasoline.
Just as true of gasoline.
That is just plain wrong.
It would be stupid to build a refinery there, stupid.
Wrong again. The cost of sea transport isnt dependant on the shortest distance the commodity is moved over.
Gets sillier by the minute. The gasoline becomes the commodity.
Have fun explaining the extensive investment in new refining capacity offshore.
No reason to believe that demand will spike.
Wrong again. The other obvious reason to do it is to get lower cost of operation with modern new refinerys which can make a profit at a lower price of gasoline than the dinosaur operations that havent been upgraded or whose operations are crippled by stupid environmental restrictions etc.
Nope, nothing like.
Its MUCH more complicated than that.
Nope, nothing like.
Nothing like airplane seats where you do indeed see lots of excess capacity because travel movements do in fact vary quite dramatically with the time of the year etc.
Nope.
In fact there isnt that much effect on demand at all.
Wrong when there isnt much effect on demand.
No thanks.
Have fun defining what are exhorbitant prices.
Completely impossible, actually.
They arent in the real world with gasoline in north america.
Yep, that never works.
Corse it would, its completely unworkable and the voters would never buy it anyway. The price goes thru the roof and the govt increases the taxes on it ? Alice in Wonderland stuff.
Yeah, to pay the pensions of the politicians given the bums rush at the ballot box.
Completely off with the fairys...
