What If

If cops enforced all the laws, this society and economy would grind to halt. Basically all enforcement is selective these days IMO. The martha stewart thing was a prime example. There are countless CEOs and others doing insider trading that nets alot more than the 50Gs of chump change she saved in the short term with a net loss in the long term on her sale who are never bothered with. People don't like her, so it's the equivlent of a driver pbutting through a small town and puting a tire on the white line.

There are too many ticky tacky laws and a social system that makes the enforcement random, selective, and often directed at people that have upset someone with power. When an elected offical gets nabbed for corruption in IL I always wonder who he peeed off, because it seems that 95% or more of them are corrupt and the only difference between those who get "caught" and those that don't is the enemies they've made.

It's also nothing new for an individual cop to refuse to write speeding tickets in favor of all others. They are usually displined, fired, demoted, and-or rebuttigned.
