What a Great New Law!! 2319

Dave

It's actually closer to $140 a month, I was just handwaving. I think that's a crapload of $$$ personally. I live in between DC and Annapolis, currently insured cars are:

There's something here I really, really am not getting, which makes me wonder... I don't mean for this to sound insulting or anything...

'55 Studebaker Commander (registered and insured as historic, i.e. deeply discounted rates) '62 Studebaker Lark hardtop (same) '88 Porsche 944, insured for "pleasure use only" I think they valued it around $7K which is actually pretty optimistic. (IMHO it's probably only worth about $4K which would make it worth considering carrying liability only, except that wouldn't save me that much $$$ - I had them check. Most of the premium is for the liability portion.)

IOW, NONE of these cars are driven on a regular basis (I have a company car insured by my employer) and I'm still paying over $1500 a year on insurance on them. I have a squeaky spankin' clean driving record and no claims. I did replace a windshield on an '88 GTI a couple years ago but I paid out of pocket rather than submit a claim. I'm sorely tempted to sell the Porsche and just keep the Studes, but I don't know that my insurance company wouldn't drop me then, as they would flag me as not having a "regular" car.
