Hi!
"John S."
A Volvo S80 T started life on a car designer's notepad (or computer, these days) as a slighty upscale, rather big (for its country) family or business sedan: the Volvo S80. Its design goals were space, presige, value for money, economy, whatever, but quite certainly not performance. Later, it was nonetheless modified into a quite fast sedan, the Volvo S80 T. Even successfully so.
The Porsche Boxster, OTOH, started life on another car designer's notepad (or computer) as a sports car. It was initially designed with going fast in mind as a primary objective. (Not the *only* objective, but a quite important one.)
So? So will the Bentley Continental Flying Spur, a non-sports car if I ever saw one.
Not *the* primary feature, but *a* primary feature certainly. And not top speed, but performance.
Be that as it may, I agree that it's certainly pointless to discuss that here. Which is why I'll shut up about this now.
