Whatever is happening with speed limits at the Humber Bridge?
There have been roadworks for some while now across the bridge (although, in spite of regular journies across the bridge, I have never seen any work going on), and the matrix signs on the bridge initially flashed 30mph (in place of the usual 50mph limit). A couple of weeks ago, this changed to 40mph.
However, the various signs and repeaters of the standard limit have not been covered, and still proclaim 50mph at regular intervals - often just before or just after the matrix signs.

An added part of the mixture is that, during the course of the last week, 30mph signs have been painted on the road just after the toll booths. Speed limit signs covered in black plastic have been spied on the Hull side of the Humber, just before or just beyond the Bridge, according to your direction.
Coming from Hull towards the South Bank, you now pbutt a 40mph sign, a few hundred yards on, you pbutt a painted 30mph sign, another couple of hundred yards on, you pbutt a 50mph sign, then a 40mph flashing matrix sign, followed by a 50mph repeater!
