Personally I dislike Yield signs because of the ambiguity. Some people seem to have the idea that if there is a yield sign, it is OK for them to pull out in front of you as long as you can physically slow the car down enough to keep from hitting them. At least with a stop sign they know they should slow down long enough to figure out whether or not you might not be able to avoid hitting them.
The worst use of a yield sign is at a local shopping center that has a half-butt attempt at a traffic circle. The circle is at what would ordinarily be a simple X intersection. There are yield signs on three of the four intersecting streets but not on the street entering the intersection from the main entrance. So people in the traffic circle (or at least it looks like one) buttume they have the right of way (after all three of the four streets say to yield) but people coming in from the main entrance don't realize this since there is no yield sign on their street. I am sure you can imagine the confusion when people in the circle almost collide with people entering the circle from the main street. Personally I do my best to avoid the whole mess.
