Well, I had my track day at Palmer Sport yesterday... Thanks to all those who gave me advice in advance.
Had an absolutely fantastic day's driving - the instructor bods there really are the very best (well, apart from the tonka who was my instructor on the 911, but he just had a chip on his shoulder about women drivers).
The day was really well organised and ran like clockwork - I was extra impressed at them bending over backwards to find me cars that I could fit into (I'm 6'2", so I had visions of me not being able to drive their single seater or the Le Mans Jag (In fact, aparently I'm the tallest "lady" they have ever had!))
Didn't come home with any silverware, thems that had been there before managed to clean up on that score - but I don't really care, had some fantastic fun, and enjoyed myself.
Definately recommend it to anyone who wants a really really good track day, just be prepared to pay through the nose for it.
For those who are mildly interested, here's what I drove and my lap times (and yes, I know they were abysmally slow, but I promise I'll do better next time!!)
Porsche 911 JP3 - 86.19 (spun once on last lap so fastest lap disallowed!) Palmer Jaguar JP1 - 99.48 Renault Clio Cup - 47.83 Nissan 350z - 45.01 Caterham 7 Sprint - 58.38 Nissan Pathfinder 4x4 (no timed laps - off road course, 37 points) Karts - 46.66 (ok, I hate them, to small and noisy for me) Also did the Caterham head to head race - won all 3 races :o)
I'm buttured my grin will fade over time :o)
