Where to indicate when leaving motorway 5214

Lawtears pretended :

Why is that?

300yds, a distance I would cover in just a few short seconds at the speed limit. I don't follow your definition of useless. A proper indication allows everyone around you to safely plan ahead.

The interface between motorway and slip road can be quite a long distance. I know of one locally which is 1.5 miles long. Fortunately, most drivers have such a fear of this slip road that they do give the correct indications before entering or leaving the slip road.

Overtaking slower moving vehicles on their left is permitted, if the two vehicles are on what can be defined as different roads. The slip road is a different road to the motorway, therefore 'undertaking' is permitted.

Ther is nothing outdated about driving correctly and giving the correct indications of your intentions.

I drive in the hope that others will drive correctly, give the correct signals in the correct places, position themselves correctly on the road and with consideration for other road users. Sadly, most of the time I am very disappointed in the standards of driving these days, which is why I make suitably large allowances for other drivers errors.

It's a flashing light pbutting information on to people who can already predict what's going to happen. What bullpoo. It takes more than a 'few short seconds' to travel 300yds...

I would feel far safer with me in the driving seat! I take my driving and the skill of driving very seriously.
