It's a flashing light pbutting information on to people who can already predict what's going to happen.
What bullpoo. It takes more than a 'few short seconds' to travel 300yds at 70mph. At 95mph, about 7 seconds.
Or tell the stupid ones who arn't paying attention. Those that are paying attention have probably figured it out before you indicate.
Hmm, in many ways, you are correct in that it allows people (who should not be on the M-way, imo) to plan.
A 1.5m slip road is a bit unusual. Not sure I've been on a road that long. I would have to admit that such a long road would invite more caution and I would probably signal then. On the more average scenario, maybe, maybe not.
I suppose, but I allow more caution in such circumstances.
Is it? Why? On roundabouts, sure. On M-ways? No. I'm more annoyed by tailgating harshly, light flashing and arrogance.
Er, it was the 'claiming' and the 'no overtaking when my rights are on' that I thought was outdated.
I'm disappointed with the public, sure. I'm more disappointed with gov't, DSA and all the bullpoo they put out, as in the long run, it only encourages poorer driving as wannabes slowly learn that everything they learnt on test is ignored by everyone else on the road. As such, those wannabes create their own driving standards. There are 25million (ish) road users in the uk. That's 25 million different ways to drive.
That wasn't really answering the question :)
