I have found that if I stop on the street, set up orange cones at one foot spacing to delineate my next line of movement, and barricade off the street to any cars or people, and also if I have spotters in all my blind spots, that I can safely back my car into my driveway when parking. I've been doing this for over 20 years and have not run over AND end anyone yet when backing in or pulling out.
My dumb neighbor has simply been pulling forward into his driveway to park without setting up any of this stuff or using spotters and then, god forbid, backing out when he leaves. I know he is risking his life and the lives of everyone who lives on the block when he does this. I have been warning him for over 20 years that he's going to kill someone by his risky parking style but does he listen--- NO. Although it hasn't happened yet, the day is going to come when he does kill someone. I know I won't, although I have backed over my spotters twice, neither of them were end so it doesn't count.
