Why Sloths are Offensive 3266
gpsman Actually, they are automatically wrong if they are in the left lane and not pbutting. So says the law (in most states.) Bullpoo. Yes, that is the problem...

Well... I don't think I have it all wrong. Your modifier, "Those who were actually taught to drive correctly" excludes drivers who use the term Sloth. If they were taught to drive correctly they wouldn't feel qualified to drive their own vehicle and make judgements and decisions for other drivers about which they know nothing.

That's much immature rationalization. First, you can't buttume the motivation of the driver using the left lane. Secondly, "can only end with anger" is false. People's emotions are their own responsibility. You can't "make" me angry unless I choose to allow it.

I never said angry. But *I* would never buttume a driver is deliberately impeding the normal movement of traffic. I do always buttume other drivers are idiots... and are willing to die for the illusion of saving a few seconds but I don't think anything beyond that would be prudent. Anger is mostly a wasted emotion as it applies to the driving of others. It clouds most people's judgment and accomplishes nothing. .

Here we run into the subjective problem of what is deemed appropiate. Scott incorrectly feels roadways are intended to allow him to travel between A and B in the shortest time *possible*. What he feels is appropiate will differ vastly from a more reasonable driver. And, as a poster in another thread noted: second-guessing another (law abiding) driver is a mistake. -----
