Why do cars with automatic transmissions have tachometer

Why do cars with automatic transmissions have tachometers 2609
A tachometer on an automatic transmission vehicle can be very useful, especially for one that is electronically controlled. If I want to get the transmission to shift...

People want them, it makes them feel in control, and it SELLS. It isnt some great unknown. Its the same reason why people buy giant SUVās and Sports cars. How often do most SUV, Fullsize truck, Sports car owners accually use their car for the purpose it was made for. sure it happens, but your F350 quadcab extended bed truck probably has something in it 2-3 times a year. but does that stop you, no and why should it if thats what you want, just keep your mouth shut when you put $100 worth of gas into it 2x a week. Do cars have 8tracks anymore, no... people dont want them, but that DVD bundle sure goes out the door. If it sells, car companies will make it. and tachs sell, while other more useful gauges dont. noone wants to have to figure out that they are overheating, or their battery is dying... so they give us a little light that goes on. heck, we have lights for everything anymore, gas, when to shift, doors open, etc. make something Idiot proof... and we just get dumber idiots.
