Yes, that's true.
Question: who knows more about the design of a road - traffic engineers or elected officials who might never have seen the stretch of roadway in question?
Another question: If we the people, as defined by 95% of the road-using public, decide that 70mph is the proper speed, isn't that a democratic way to set the limit?
Why?
Actually, in this state, I did no such thing.
So I should sit in my driveway idling the motor until I run out of gas? Doesn't sound very productive.
What about those "retards" who don't go "in and out of traffic" - should they lose their licences too?
Unsafe as defined, how? Weather conditions? Traffic density? Driver capability?
At night, in a driving snowstorm over icy roads, does a 75-year-old woman with macular degeneration drive at the speed indicated by a sign by the side of the road?
Except for the small detail that one is normal and safe, and the other is deadly and psychopathic.
Really? I see people doing it all the time. I wonder if they know!
The off chance of getting a citation? Sure - it's part of the deal. It would be better if law-makers didn't have to put a tax on travelling at a reasonable rate, but one cannot avoid rest nor taxes.
