Bad lane disciplineI went to Slough yesterday, and got VERY annoyed with bad lane discipline :-( On a number of...

Yeah, not good :-(
This post is about increasing the speed limits rather than breaking the speed limits. On some roads it may not be sensible to increase the speed limits for lorries, but on some it almost certainly is. Slow lorries (ie. 40mph ones) can result in aggression from other road users, and when they overtake it can be dangerous for everybody. Of course, this doesn't excuse speeding.
This is interesting actually. I drive along the same road to work everyday (the A4), and have recently tried driving 'slower'. However, my average speed seemed to be no slower, possibly faster if anything. The only problem is that at these speeds other drivers can get angry.
Driving slowly was very unstressful, and the best thing was that I didn't have to stop at roundabouts because the queues weren't there, so I could just plan my approach, and fly over at 40+mph. On the whole I think I was probably a few seconds quicker when I was driving 'slower'. Hopefully I will also get slightly better fuel consumption too.
The reason for me trying 'slow' driving was because of a learner driver that I got stuck behind one day. The learner was struggling to do 40mph on the NSL, but once I was past the learner I managed to do 60mph all the way, and I got home in the fastest time ever! I think I'll be trying some more 'slow' driving.
Oh, I'm a car driver btw, not a lorry driver.
Yes, a very good idea! IIRC I think the OP does stick to the limits though.
btw, I think your Caps Lock key is stuck ;)
