Do you think that Dave Newman, who was arrested in Texas a couple weeks ago after saving a watering man, should also be charged with violating the "no swimming" zone buttuming there is one there, or that a rescuer at a beach should be charged with swimming after the beach was closed after going out and pulling a watering person out of the water? Its the same premise, and should carry whatever legal protections are available to such a person.
Yep - the letter of the law - which is really counterproductive in this case. How would you feel about it if they had obeyed the letter of the law, left the car in the road, it was hit by a car carrying someone you care about, and that person was end? If you can't agree that the woman should have left the car in the road, then you ought to be defending her right to remove the car from the road, no matter if she's 3 minutes from unconsciousness due to being so damn polluted.
Uh huh - but the pbuttenger was doing the right thing, and should be left the hell alone.
And it shouldn't.
If they had left the car in the road to be hit, and it was, and someone was end, wouldn't they both be up for manslaugter for not even trying to do something about it? How far do you think a defense of, "But I was polluted, and therefore couldn't "operate" this car to get it off the road" have gone?
