I would punish them then too. I would punish the original driver even if they got home safe and sound for driving while drunk, and would LIKE to punish the original pbuttenger for terminal dumbbuttedness for getting into the car with her, but unfortunately being a complete moron isn't a crime as you're conveniently proving.

Gee, most roads go up, and then come back down again. It's possible that the car had to go up a little grade and then down one before it could get to wherever they were trying to get it. In fact, it seems entirely likely that that's what happened, as THEY f***ING STARTED RUNNING INTO poo, or have you forgotten that?

It is EXACTLY as cut and dried as you think it is.

Let's break it down real simple like. Some tool gets all kinds of tanked up and starts f***ing around in his car in a parking lot. Now he never starts the engine or even tries to, but he knocks the car out of gear and it starts rolling away. Since he's tanked, he can't drive worth a poo and he also forgets that the power brakes and steering don't work while the engine is off so he's all flustered. Before he can get his heap under control, it sideswipes YOUR car, taking out front and rear fenders and both doors, all on the same side. Of course, it was only at 2-3 MPH, so it's not that big of a deal, right?

I feel that they both should be punished because a) they were dumbbuttes b) they clearly pose a danger to society and c) they caused property damage and finally d) they BROKE THE GODDAMNED LAW. This is one instance where the law is being applied fairly and honestly. You may argue until you're blue in the face that they just HAD to push the car off the road, and you may well be right. That doesn't change the fact that that may have been the ONLY good decision either of them made that night.

As I've said before, if they had managed to get the car off the road and into a safe place safely, I might be tempted to give them a free pbutt. But since they were clearly incapable of safely operating a motor vehicle, the book was correctly thrown in this case, and frankly, I'm starting to wonder about you. You seem awful quick to defend the lushes for some reason, when their behavior is entirely indefensible.

Since it is clear that you as well are having a case of terminal dumbbutt and trying to debate this with you is very reminiscent of the old adage about the special olympics, I will leave you to your stupidity.
