That is exactly the situation, then, that the two women were in. You are pooped from pushing, and can't push any more, and to complete the task in a timely manner lest someone comes along and there's an accident with you in the middle of it, you must steer. Or, you must abandon the car to possibly be hit by an innocent driver. What's it gonna be, hmmm? (I know you're not going to answer this...)

They shouldn't have said anything at all, but... even so, I would never have expected such a problem as this from an emergency manuever to clear the roadway of a hazard. I would expect the cop to realize that the situation dictated action to make the roadway safe, and not go about perscuting the only people there that were capable of accomplishing it, and did.

Yeah, yeah, yeah - Well, I do think by a different set of rules. I go by what is fair and just, not what the letter of the law says. If the law says X and it turns out to be an injustice, I will say, "f*** X" and do what I can to ignore it, change it, subvert it, etc. I am a fan of jury nullification. I wouldn't vote that pbuttenger guilty of DUI if deliberations ran on for 6 months. Just not going to do it. If I were to do it, I think my mental health would suffer - I would be consumed by the guilt of perpetrating an injustice on someone who didn't deserve punishment. I might actually need treatment for it. I just wouldn't deliberately wreck myself like that.
