Its because the application of a law to deal with an incredibly dangerous situation, a person actually driving a car while drunk, with commensurate punishments for being an extreme hazard, is attempting to be applied to a situation that was no threat to anybody.
As I've said already tonight, if you think they're the same, then I'll stand in front of the car being pushed at less than a walking pace by a woman, and you stand in front of a car being driven by a real drunk driver at 60 mph. I'll extend my hand and stop that car. What are you going to do?
Women Busted for DUI For Pushing Car 1888So they were charged with operating a motor vehicle while looped. Great. Why does the law say motor vehicle? Everyone here wants to just gloss over the word, as if removing the word makes no...
But it was. Now, do you want them to just leave it there to be hit if the engine dies?
Women Busted for DUI For Pushing Car 1885jaybird Have I slipped into some kind of parallel universe? Here I am agreeing with jaybird and disagreeing with Dave! It's real simple, my rallying friend. Whenever there is an exception...
They? The pbuttenger too? Well, I guess that sorta negates the "designated driver" concept, eh?
Thread recently - yeah, come to think of it, it was in a different group. This guy, Dave Newman, rescued a guy from a fast moving stream. Some damn cop started yelling at him to get out of there - I understand it was after the rescue, unlike the way it was originally reported - but still, the cop had no business arresting somone that had just performed a rescue just because he didn't immediately vacate some particular area the cop didn't want him in. It was all a cooked-up thing by the cop... to be able to make another arrest. If someone rescues someone, and the cops want him somewhere else, they should send a sedan chair carried by 4 cops and transport him themselves. Search for "Dave Newman" and "rescue" - you'll find it. Yet more overzealous cop nonsense. That one has, thankfully, been thown completely out of the justice system after a righteous outcry from the public.
So have sleepy people. Hey, I think you might wake up tomorrow and liquidate your wife, throw her in the bay, and claim to have been simply fishing there that day. Lets throw you in jail now, because of what you might do...
