Women just don't have the brain to handle an automobile

No flames here....but I think the problem lies partially with the fact that when a heteroloveual couple goes out in the car together, it's usually the man who does the driving (something to do with manly dominance perhaps?) So women simply don't get the same amount of driving practice - although many of us become quite expert at threading our way home late at night after our other halves have downed a few.

Another difficulty is that most car manufacturers don't make the seats high enough for many women, me included, to see out properly. As I have said in another newsgroup, I think the popularity of 4x4s for the school run is less about perceived impact safety, and more about being able to know, rather than guess, where the four corners of one's vehicle are. And this was in the days before parking sensors!

However, it is a measurable fact that on average men tend to score higher in tests of intelligence and ability involving spatial matters - which would of course include parking. Women tend to do better in tests for the verbal ability spectrum, including grammar, spelling and punctuation. Based on my observations I would suggest that most men simply don't have a brain suited to posting......
