BTW, it's the same placebo effect that leads people to believe that radar detectors saved the from getting tickets EVERY time they pbutted a cop. The truth is, they have no way of knowing why the cop didn't pull them over; they might not have been going fast enough, the cop might have been filling out paperwork, the cop might even be eating a doughnut. However, because they want to justify the expense of a $400 radar detector, they give the detector credit for "saving" them.
