It doesn't make sense they would be street racing. One car was so weighted down with pbuttengers it makes no sense at all. My guess is one of the cars was riced so the reporter or cop concluded they were street racing.
Like I said before, at best it was a stop light acceleration contest. Most of these don't even exceed the posted speed limit. The unwritten rule as I recall is that it's to the speed limit. Exceeding the speed limit to pbutt the 'winner' is considered poor sportsmanship.
Considering how crappy most reporters are and how the whole speed kills street racing thing is for the media, my guess is we have at least one ricey honda and show of acceleration with terminal speeds within 5mph of the normal speed of traffic. Yes, I'm guessing. But I think it's a pretty good guess when one vehicle had 7 people in it.
The turning woman probably expected them to take off sloth like, I know I've surprised a few people who thought that I was going to take a day and half to get going. And that's just with the bicycle. More so in the car.
