Heh - well for a while my Carlton Estate that I had at the time had a near-knackered battery on it, and most of the time I'd manage to push it down the very slight slope off the driveway into the cul-de-sac we live in, and get enough momentum to start it. Most of the time. If not, I'd have to go in, grab the keys to my Dad's car, drive that the small distance (20-30m) to my car, and jump-start the thing!!
Then one day I had the genius idea of backing it up onto ramps when I got in from work - problem solved - when leaving in the morning I'd roll it down off the ramps, chuck them in the boot, and do the reverse when getting home.
A change of heartThere's your first wrong buttumption. It's not. The System is essentially the same now as it has always been. No. The strength of the system is that it has NOT changed and has managed...
I bet the neighbours really enjoyed the daily show.
I once had a Viva with a poor battery. I hit on the idea of bringing an insulated live feed from the battery to a gap in the grille - stuck with some Blu-tack. Each night (rather than open the bonnet) I would hook up the charger to the front bumper and this end of live cable. It worked through the winter with success and I didn't need to open the bonnet each day. The charger was on a plug in timer to come on at about 2:00am.
