"I'm a strong supporter of the free speech, but I think that insulting anti-Bush car stickers are illegal, because they are meant to enrage other motorists, regardless of their political views, thereby increasing the chances of road rage. There must be laws about public endangerment and disturbance of peace that can be applied here."

If you raise CAFE enough, SUV's will become pointless. People who really need to haul stuff will fork over the additional money for one, and everybody else will either buy a...

Apparently not that strong of a supporter after all... It's like saying you support equality, but not for "those people". Or that you support the drug war, then elect a coke user. Or that you support the wars, but would rather see the nation bankrupted than pay any taxes to pay for them.

(meant to enrage other motorists, regardless of their political views,) (Actually, they're meant to,and do, enrage motorists with a specific view: Bush supporters.)

Let me get this straight. Political speech should be restricted as a Safety Measure? That would, presumably include all speech, since one never knows who's going to be enraged by what. If I put a "Support the President" sticker on my car, doesn't that offend those who don't? Why stop at cars? Political protesters are deliberately trying to agitate people, right? This could cause unrest, directed at the protesters or at the government. So FOR THEIR OWN SAFETY, we should ban it altogether. Why stop with Political speech or press (I guess bumper stickers are actually both...)? I know Christians who get enraged by Wiccan stickers, and atheists who sputter at Christian stickers. (And I'm a Calvin and Hobbes fan who despairs over the ones of Calvin praying before the cross, it's so completely out of character for him, I mean, really!) Clearly a message like, "God hates fags" is intended to offend. Ban it!

I HAD to respond to this one! First, let's buttUME that OPEC is being "open" about their pumping capacities (which I never believed they are), Saudi Arabia has a 500,000 barrel per...

Congratulations, that's almost the whole 1st Amendment gone (still got that pesky "redress of grievances" clause). And why not, since we've given up on the 2nd (in CA, at least), 4th, 5th, 9th, and 14th.

And you probably consider the RLC's to be a threat to freedom...
