On Sat, 1 Jul 2006, Dr Zoidberg Why do you believe that they are going to...

Don't read the national papers (on the whole) because I get condensed news off the net. I do read the local papers, only for the complete wing-nuts who write into the letters pages.

If a sport report comes onto TV-Radio, I turn it off. I get my news normally from the BBC news website, which has a dedicated Sport section, which I totally ignore. When I listen to the radio, they're normally short news headlines, with very little sport. The only TV news I tend to watch is the 2 minute news before CSI and House, and I'm normally making a cuppa when it's on anyway.

I do occasionally see headlines about who's won and lost, but (1) I don't actually care and (2) they're not normally going on ad-infinitum about who's playing who, when, what sort of formation etc.

The main turnoff I have about sport is the commentators and managers. I heard one gem of a quote about why a football team lost a match - "We didn't score enough goals, and we let too many in". No poo Sherlock.

The reason I don't watch F1: Murray Walker put me off a decade ago. See "Commentators" comment above.
