You can turn off this motorway at one of the many junctions on the way. If you're doing such journeys regularly, then perhaps you could have a favourite, which is perhaps on the M1 or M6 so that most of your runs go past it.
It depends - if it ends up meaning to have to make an extra stop that you otherwise wouldn't have. That's got to shave some time off the perceived advantage.
Or that you have done anytime recently.. Besides, I drive reasonably far down motorways quite often. Certainly not 400 mile jobs though, never the distances-durations where I'm likely to get tired. However, were that the case, then I really think that doing 100mph instead of 70mph in order to get there sooner so as to try and reduce the chance of nodding off would be crazy logic.
Think about this, if you're going to make out that I can't know because I don't do 400+ mile trips, then you're also admitting that your point only applies to those extreme examples and thus is irrelevent to most people's speeding.
Perhaps things were different in 1992 (less speeding convictions certainly), but if you find you're being booked into doing jobs that require you to speed in order to achieve, then you need to have words with your boss because people are just taking advantage. You get points on your license, they'll just get rid of you and take on another mug.
